Dorothy A. Mars, CFP®, CDFA, has been in the financial services industry since 1979.  A newcomer to Atlanta, she lived for the past 33 years in South Florida where she spent the majority of her career doing total financial planning as a Financial Consultant for two major brokerage firms, reaching the level of First Vice President-Investments.  Ms. Mars has now changed her focus from investing and accumulating assets to working with divorcing individuals and divorce professionals to try to ensure that divorce financial settlements are as equitable as possible and also hold up under the test of time.

Ms. Mars has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Ohio University and received her designation as a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner in 1992.  She holds Series 7, 63, 65 and insurance licenses.  For many years she taught adult education Financial Planning classes for her local high school system and did extensive volunteer work for Women in Distress, an organization helping battered and abused women in Broward County, Florida.

Her current affiliations include the FPA (Financial Planning Association), the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts and the Gwinnet Chamber of Commerce.
